About

Family owned and operated
we've called this winery home since 2006.
You could call us 'the little beaver that could'.

Our Story

We’ve been around awhile in the winery business. We started the winery in January of 2006, and opened our wine shop a few months later in April. We have seen a lot, done a lot, worked a lot and enjoyed a lot of wine. Family owned, we are true vignerons – we make wine from grapes we grow. Simply, we are farmers who like to make good wine.

Wine Shop

Our wine shop is open daily. Come by for a tasting of our wines, and leave with a few of your favourites. We’re located right off of highway 97 south, about halfway between Oliver and Osoyoos, B.C.

Special Event Area

In addition to the wine shop, we have a lovely picnic and spacious special event area. Pop in for a tasting, enjoy a picnic lunch, or contact us about booking our special event area for your big day.

Our Team

Partners in life and winemaking – Castoro de Oro Estate Winery is co-owned and operated by Bruno Kelle and Stella Schmidt.

Bruno Kelle

Born and raised in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Bruno moved west over twenty years ago. He likes music, playing guitar, and spending time with his three kids. When he’s not busy making wine, you’ll find him in the yard playing soccer with their Welsh Terrier Walnut, or relaxing with a glass of wine on the patio.

Stella Schmidt

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Stella likes gardening, reading, music, and playing with Walnut. Stella grew up breeding and training dogs, focusing on Welsh Terriers. Walnut is not only her self-described ‘sanity break’, but their winery-guest greeter as well.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to make 100% B.C. wines at the best value possible, so you can enjoy award winning wines any day of the week. This means you don’t have to save award winning wines for special occasions.

Visiting the Winery

Our winery is accessible right off the highway – pull in for a taste of our latest selections. Enjoy a glass on the patio and take in the view of the valley. Our winery dog Walnut loves making new friends, but we ask that pets be kept on leash.
